The Northampton Area School District School Board voted unanimously 9-0 at the June 23 meeting to approve a collective bargaining agreement with Northampton Area Security Association, effective July 1-June 30, 2017.
The wage rate increase is 2.3 percent, with no benefits, for the seven NASD guards.
Also approved by the school board June 23 were security guard employees Ernie Luengen, Matthew Rutz and Deborah Recker to work at Northampton Area High School during summer 2014.
One guard will be on duty per week at the regular hourly rate of pay.
The school board also approved substitute security guards Francine Gonzalez and Michael Rehrig to work, if needed to cover absences during summer 2014, at Northampton Area Middle School and Northampton Area High School.

The school board voted unanimously at the June 9 meeting to approve a contract for Wilfred Williams as Northampton Area School District Chief of School Police for school years 2014-15 and 2016-17 at a salary of $51,855.66 for the 2014-15 school year.
