The following students were named to the University of Delaware's dean's list for the 2013 fall semester:

To meet eligibility requirements for the dean's list, a student must be enrolled full time and earn a GPA of 3.33 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

is honored
Adam B. Rabenold, of Kutztown, was recognized for academic achievement April 10 at Lebanon Valley College's Spring Awards and Recognition Ceremony.
The ceremony recognizes excellence in natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities.
Rabenold, a graduate of Kutztown Area High School, is pursuing a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts in music education and music. He won the Deborah Moore Award in Music.
The ceremony was part of the college's inquiry 2014 activities, which celebrated the scholarly, scientific, and creative achievements of the student body.

Harris Nagle, of Allentown, a freshman at Marist College, Poughkeepsie N.Y., was named a member of the swimming and diving team for the 2013-14 season.
Nagle competes in breaststroke and freestyle.

on dean's list
The following local students were named to the dean's list for the fall 2013 semester at Lycoming College, Williamsport.
Fogelsville: Gabrielle Gaugler;
New Tripoli:Amy Vaughn; and
Schnecksville: Ashley and Laurie Gimbel.
The dean's list is issued at the close of each semester in recognition of superior scholarship.
Students make the dean's list if they complete at least 12 semester hours and earn a minimum grade point average of 3.50 for the semester.

joins honor society
Kristin N. Fitti-Hafer, of Kutztown, was inducted into Lebanon Valley College's Phi Alpha Epsilon honor society during Inquiry 2014, the college's celebration of the scholarly, scientific, and creative achievements of the student body.
Fitti-Hafer, who is pursuing a doctorate in physical therapy, is a graduate of Kutztown Area High School.
Phi Alpha Epsilon membership is limited to senior students who have achieved a 3.6 grade-point average, completed 24 credits of LVC coursework, and earned a bronze, silver, or gold community service award.

receive awards
Lehigh Carbon Community College students, Nathan Christie of Allentown, and Caitlin Brown of Orefield, were named to the 2013-14 Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team.
They were honored in March.
Christie, a general studies major, is planning on continuing his education at West Chester University this fall.
He is majoring in exercise science with a concentration in pre-occupational therapy.
Christie, who is in the Honors Scholars Program at LCCC, was a member of the Student Government Association.
In addition, he served as vice president for the college's chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and was instrumental in setting up the Back Pack Buddy cereal collection drive for Second Harvest Food Bank.
Christie sings with his church's Praise Team and participated in the traveling choir in 2013 benefittingthe Miracle League of the Lehigh Valley.
Brown, who majors in psychology, plans on continuing her education at West Chester University this fall, majoring in women's studies. Also an Honors Scholar Program student at LCCC, Brown served as the recording secretary for the college's chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and is a member of Psi Beta, the national honor society for psychology majors.
She played a crucial part in the production of the international V-Day Movement in the spring of 2013, raising awareness and funds to end violence against women and girls around the world.
Brown's research paper was selected for the Beacon Competition, a regional conference for research by students at two-year institutions.
The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation sponsors the Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team program by awarding each member a full two-year scholarship to any of the universities in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society administers the Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team Program and recognizes Coca-Cola Community College scholars during All-State Community College Academic Team Recognition ceremonies held in 38 states.
These students automatically compete at the national level for additional scholarships.

on dean's list
Daniel Minnich of Laurys Station, a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University's Florham Campus, Madison, N.J., was named to the dean's list for the 2013 fall semester.
To qualify for dean's list, a student must carry a 3.2 or better grade-point average out of a possible 4.0 and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 letter-graded hours.

in charity
Teal Golden of New Tripoli spent spring break serving others through James Madison University's Alternative Spring Break Program.
Golden, a graduate student in personnel administration traveled to Charlotte, N.C., to volunteer with Life Span.
The student-led trips took place March 8-15. Each trip focused on a social issue, such as homelessness, resettlement, environmentalism or community wellness, in a specific region.
Almost 300 students embarked on 30 spring break trips around the country and world.
The students spent the week living simply, focused on service in their destination community but also on teamwork and reflection within their group.

Keelin Granahan of Allentown received a Bachelor of Music degree in voice performance during the May 2014 Southern Methodist University commencement ceremony.
After the University-wide Commencement, Southern Methodist University's schools and departments held individual receptions throughout the day to honor graduates.
