Alison Troutmann, the new director of youth services at the Parkland Community Library; Carly Simon, professional storyteller; and other guests will present children's programs this summer at the North Whitehall Township Building.
On July 10, Miss Carly will have story time and a craft with the theme "Boat Blast," 10 a.m. July 10
She will return 10 a.m. July 17 with the program, "Building Big."
Both are for children in kindergarten through third grade.
Dawn Sellers, of the Center for Vision Loss, will discuss eyes 11 a.m. July 17 in the library.
She will check children's vision and explain about eye exams.
Miss Alison will have a Jedi training camp 10 a.m. July 31 for young Pada-wans entering kindergarten through fifth grade.
At 11 a.m. that day, Mad Science of the Lehigh Valley, will provide amazement through polymers and chemistry for ages 6 to 12.
Mad Science is an educational company making science fun for kids.
Registration is required for the two July 31 programs.

Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, invites children to attend the Weird Animals Vacation Bible School program July 28-Aug. 1.
Registration is being accepted for boys and girls ages three through sixth grade.
The week of activities, learning and fun is free for everyone.
During the 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. sessions, children will hear about Bible adventures, play games, conduct amazing experiments, view Kid Vid Cinema, enjoy incredible music and have tasty treats at the Critter Cafe.
Everything is hands-on, so participants should come in play clothes and comfortable shoes.
During the Weird Animals VBS, children will learn even if they feel different or lost in a crowd, nothing compares to the love of Jesus.
Union Lutheran is also offering two summer camps for which there is a fee.
Two by Two, Aug. 11-14, is a parent and me camp experience for 2- and 3-year-olds as an introduction to pre-school.
The Learning Ark Christian Pre-School summer camp, Aug. 11-15, is for ages 3 to 5.

The Auxiliary of Northern Valley EMS, NOVA, has tickets available for a barbecued chicken dinner noon-6 p.m. July 19.
The meal, which may be eaten in the air-conditioned hall or taken out, includes half a chicken, baked potato, corn, pickled cabbage, roll and dessert.
Tickets must be purchased in advance.
