Four St. Luke's Care Now centers in Allentown, Bethlehem, Jim Thorpe and Wind Gap are now open for immediate care and treatment of minor illnesses and injuries.
St. Luke's Care Now are at St. Luke's West End Medical Center, 501 Cetronia Road, Allentown; St. Luke's North, 153 Brodhead Road, Bethlehem; 1104 N. St., Jim Thorpe; and St. Luke's Wind Gap Medical Center, 487 E. Moorestown Road, Wind Gap.
St. Luke's Care Now locations offers extended and weekend hours for fast, high-quality care when a patient cannot be seen immediately by his or her personal physician. Patients receive care from a St. Luke's provider. No appointment is necessary.
St. Luke's Care Now provides treatment for conditions that require immediate attention, but are not serious enough to warrant a visit to the Emergency Room, according to the center's medical director Robert Dolansky, DO.
This may include fever and flu-like symptoms, sinus infections, bronchitis, sprains, strains, broken bones, dislocations, cuts, minor burns, animal bites and other minor medical concerns.
"Thankfully, not every medical need requires an Emergency Room visit," says Joe Cunningham, Network Director, Urgent Care Services, St. Luke's University Health Network.
"Patients can walk right in to a St. Luke's Care Now and be seen by a St. Luke's primary care provider, making it the quick, practical choice for less serious health concerns that cannot wait. Care is also provided at a lower cost than an emergency room visit."
St. Luke's Care Now locations offer onsite diagnostic testing, including lab and X-ray services, and occupational medicine services to local employers.
