Joyful giving! According to Heidelberg Church soup kitchen Assistant Coordinator Linda Hausamann, 185 hot meals were served recently to the hungry and homeless at the Allentown Soup Kitchen.

The meal consisted of barbecue chicken, mashed potatoes, tossed salad, fruit, rolls and desserts. Attention Heidelberg bakers: No baked goods will be needed for the summer.

Special thanks to the following volunteers of the day: Pastor Karen Yonney, Eleanor and Ron Klevenhagen, Shirley Boger, Robin Koch, Linda Hausamann and Howard Truitt.

Spread the word! Before you throw away your old ink cartridges, think twice.

Heidelberg Union Church recycles ink cartridges to help with the cost of supplies for the office.

Each cartridge provides the church with $2 credit.

If you have any old cartridges that you would like to get rid of, bring them to the church and drop them in one of the boxes marked recycled ink cartridges.

So far, the church has saved $200 to date.
