Stahl's Pottery Preservation Society Inc.'s 27th annual summer pottery festival, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. rain or shine at the pottery grounds along Corning Road, Zionsville. The pottery festival features tours of the potting shed and kiln, 31 potters displaying and selling traditional and contemporary pottery, pottery demonstrations, hands-on potting opportunities, an exhibit of historic Stahl's pottery, baked goods and light refreshments. The quarterly meeting of the Hivel Und Dahl Preservation Society will be held 7 p.m. at the Zions Evangelical Lutheran Church along Kings Highway South, Old Zionsville. After a short business meeting Darlene and Jeff Brosky will give a talk on their involvement with Civil War re-enactment and the daily life of a Civil War soldier. An old fashioned church festival open to the public will be held 4 to 9 p.m. at Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, 3441 Devonshire Road, Allentown. Entertainment includes Summer Harmony, the Church Band and Clarence the Clown. Some seating is available, but guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to sit and enjoy the entertainment. There will be food and drink stands, a cakewalk, basket raffles and games. There is a cost for tickets which includes a free basket raffle entry. Visit the grounds of the historic old Dillingersville Schoolhouse, 7226 Schoolhouse Lane, Zionsville. Look for the big tent. Food will be available for purchase 5 p.m. At 6 p.m. the Zepp Family Band will entertain with original and traditional bluegrass gospel music played on guitar, fiddle, bass, mandolin and other instruments.
