The New Tripoli Bank FC (Northwestern) soccer team improved to 2-1 in the Lehigh Valley Summer Soccer League with its 2-1 overtime victory over CSG Falcons (Salisbury) on Friday night. Cody Gangaware scored the game-winning goal past Falcon goalkeeper Tyler Keller in the opening minutes of the extra session. Josh Bryan lifted New Tripoli to a 1-0 advantage a little more than midway through the second half.
Through three games, New Tripoli is fourth in the standings with a goal-differential of plus-1. Three other teams, including Bears United (Pleasant Valley), CSG Falcons and Liberty Blue, are also 2-1.
Following a 2-1 defeat to Liberty Blue in their season opener last Monday, New Tripoli shut out Pennridge Rams (1-0) two days later to even its record.
New Tripoli faces Bears United next Wednesday, June 18, at 7:15 p.m.
