LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

NV Legion starts 2-2

Through its first four legion baseball games, Northern Valley has alternated wins and losses and held a 2-2 record as of Sunday afternoon. The Chargers responded from their 2-1 season-opening loss against West Allentown with a 4-0 shutout victory over Coplay to kick off the month of June.

The Chargers' bats, which were a concern for head coach Brad Rauch heading into the season, struggled against Fullerton last Tuesday. Dakota Schiffer pitched a one-hitter in Fullerton's 4-1 win. Two days later, however, it was the Chargers' pitching staff that rose to the occasion in an 8-1 romp over Emmaus.

On Sunday, the Chargers managed just one run on six in their 2-1 loss to Southern Lehigh. Results from Tuesday's games against South Parkland and Wednesday's game against Coplay were not available at time of press. The Chargers host Salisbury on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Northern Lehigh High School and South Parkland on Monday at Northwestern High School
