New pet salon opens in South Whitehall Twp

Posh Puppies Pet Grooming recently opened its doors at 2325 Walbert Ave., South Whitehall Township.

Co-owners Nuria Chicken and her daughter Nuria Logan said this is their first time they have owned a business grooming dogs.

"We are very excited about our business," said Nuria Chicken. "We go the extra mile so the dog has a good experience.

"We take our time and give the dog a massage when in the bath tub.

Nuria Logan said they offer nail trimming and grinding, bathing and deshedding treatments, breed cuts as well as specialize in cute cuts for dogs of all sizes and breeds.

"Grooming is done by appointment only," Logan said. "No appointment is needed for a bath or nail trimming.

"The No. 1 thing is for the dog to have a good experience so they come back.

"We love dogs, so we want people to give us a try."

She said the first time customers come to the salon, they receive a $10-off coupon for grooming.

"We want the dog to have a good experience and customers to be happy with the results," Logan said. "The dog and the owner are both customers, so they both have to be happy."

Chicken, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business from ITRM University in Mexico City, Mexico.

Logan graduated from Columbia College in Columbia, Mo., with a Bachelor of Science degree in animal science.

She lives in Allentown with her mother and father Michael Chicken, who is retired from the military.

Chicken enjoys doing art sculptures in her spare time. Logan paints, and enjoys walking her Yorkie named Zoey, Pomeranian named Pomps and two Shih Tzus, Rush and Watson.

Posh Puppies is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.
