June is a busy time

It's carnival time at the North Catasauqua Park, today through Saturday, each evening beginning at 6 p.m. Enjoy the food court, rides, games, a raffle and live music, including performances by Shake, Rattle & Soul, Common Bond and Flirtin' with the Mob.

Thursday and Saturday are family nights, with special pricing on rides.

Catasauqua High School students who need volunteer hours to meet school requirements may contact the betterment committee or We Sing Community Chorus for positions available at events this year, working at the carnival or at the June 22 golf tournament. Blowing up balloons, wearing the Tip the Crayon costume and providing face painting are a few of the possibilities. Work from one to three hours. For information, email NCataCentenniala@aol.com.

The small Town USA Golf Tournament will be held Sunday, June 22, at Willowbrook Golf Course 8:30 a.m., with a four-person scramble with a shotgun start. Your registration fee includes golf, cart, breakfast, welcome gift, beverages, hot dogs and snacks on the green and a buffet dinner with awards and door prizes.

Proceeds benefit the betterment committee which supports borough projects. Entry deadline is June 20. For information and registration, email NCataCentennial@aol.com.

Check out a selection of North Catasauqua pride items at borough hall, great for graduation and Father's Day gifts. The selection includes NC magnets, stadium blankets, duffel bags, Cat's Meow replicas of borough landmarks, umbrellas, rain ponchos, sweatshirts and T-shirts.

The 4th annual North Catasauqua small Town USA Community Yard Sale & Flea Market is set for 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at the borough park. Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be sold at the event.

The event is hosted by the North Catasauqua We Sing! Community Chorus.

The North Catasauqua Betterment Committee will be hosting a series of car cruises at the borough park this summer. Check out displays of classic and antique cars on the first Monday of each month, July 7, Aug. 4 and Sept. 1, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Food, door prizes, a raffle and music add to the fun at these free events.
