On June 14, Allentown Central Catholic High School will provide an opportunity to all students, including incoming freshman, interested in playing a sport during the 2014-2015 academic year to receive their pre-participation sports physical.

The school physical provides students and their families the convenience of not having to schedule a doctor visit and saves them money as well. The required forms are the PIAA pre-participation forms which can be found on the school website under "Athletics." There will be no make-up date.

If a student interested in playing sports is not in attendance, they will need to get the PIAA pre-participation forms filled out by their doctor. Students should arrive dressed in comfortable shorts, T-shirt and sneakers, along with the PIAA pre-participation form with sections one through five completed. The physical takes approximately 30 minutes to complete, consisting of a general medical exam and orthopedic exam completed by trained practitioners. No Central Catholic athletic activity will take place July 27 through Aug. 11. The first official PIAA fall practice date is Aug. 11.

Planning ahead, the first national SAT test date for the 2014-2015 school year is Oct. 11.

Summer school is scheduled to begin noon to 4 p.m. June 13 through July 3. Students identified as needing to attend summer school will be notified as soon as final grades have been calculated.

Summer hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday for the guidance office.

Admissions summer hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning June 16. Tour hours are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. To schedule a summer tour, call 610-437-4601, ext. 148.

Important dates for freshmen, sophomores and juniors include final exams June 11 with an 11:30 a.m. dismissal; collection of books, etc. June 12 with a noon dismissal; and mass closing exercise June 13 with a noon dismissal.

Senior portrait sittings for the Class of 2015 are scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 22 through 24 in Masson Auditorium at CCHS. Appointment cards and pricing information will be mailed to students' homes.

Freshman are scheduled to report for the first day of the 2014-2015 school year Aug. 26. The first day of school for students in grades 10 through 12 is Aug. 27.
