I am asking all the residents, businesses, schools, libraries, townships, fire and police departments, EMS, hospitals, nursing homes, colleges and places of worship within the Allentown, Catasauqua, Northampton and Whitehall-Coplay school districts to participate in your community Relay For Life of Whitehall festivities by Painting the Town Purple, June 1 to June 20 and 21.
You can hang banners, use streamers, make signs and decorate your yard, trees and bushes, front door, windows, mailbox, car, office, classroom, library, township buildings, mayor's office, businesses and stores and places of worship. Color your world purple.
By doing so, you show your support for cancer survivors. You also will honor those who lost their battle to cancer as well as raise awareness for the community relay and all the good things the American Cancer Society has to offer.
The 24 hour Relay For Life will be held at the Whitehall-Coplay football stadium starting noon June 20 to noon on June 21.
This Relay covers the areas mentioned above. This is not a run, though the public may walk the track if they choose to.
There are children's activities, musical entertainment, ceremonies, food for sale, bingo, raffle auctions and cash drawings, team events and vendors at the event.
The relay took a year to plan. Kindly decorate your property and do come and check out the relay. You won't be disappointed.
This is a free event for you, your family and friends to attend.
