Members of St. John's United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, contributed 38 hand-sewn scarves to the Penn Northeast Conference to raise awareness against bullying. Delegates from St. John's took the items to the recent conference meeting where the scarves were blessed and given to individuals who pledge to commit to acting against violence.
The Walking Warriors team of St. John's UCC had various fundraisers this past year bringing in $9,377 for the fight against multiple sclerosis.
The team finished second in the Lehigh Valley.
Walking Warriors will have bake sales at Newhard's Corn Shed, Mauch Chunk Road, Coplay, as another opportunity to collect for the MS cause.
Beginning June 15, St. John's Sunday worship time will be 9 a.m.

Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, will decorate the church with red geraniums on June 8 in celebration of the Day of Pentecost.
Young people will be confirmed 9 a.m. during the worship service.

The Upper Lehigh Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. June 5 at the Schneck House, Route 873, Schnecksville.
There will be a display of clothing recently donated to the group, including women's fashions, aprons and children's wear.
The spring afternoon tea was enjoyed by everyone who attended. Guests were served scones, sandwiches, desserts and tea.
Many had such a good time, they asked to have more teas throughout the year.
Historical society volunteers would like to have more teas and other fundraising activities but need additional help.
The organization is looking for new members and volunteers.

The Upper Lehigh Lions Club presented $1,000 scholarships to five Parkland seniors at the school districts recent awards ceremony.
The Lions also donated $100 to an outstanding art student at the high school.
Look for the Lions food stand at the Schnecksville Community Fair, June 16-21. Your patronage helps the Lions with their many community support programs.
