A summer of history in Easton's Hugh Moore Park begins Saturday, June 7, with the opening of the National Canal Museum and the Josiah White II canal boat ride.

The newly renovated museum will open at 11:30 a.m., with ongoing guided tours until 4 p.m. The Josiah White II, Pennsylvania's only mule-drawn canal boat, will take visitors on a 45-minute guided tour of the Lehigh Canal at 12, 1, 2 and 3 p.m.

Tickets for the boat ride and museum tour are available at the new Hugh Moore Park Welcome Center next to the Josiah White II.

The welcome center focuses on Easton's canal and industrial history and offers an introductory film about the region's past.
