Barbara Samide, principal, Harry S Truman Elementary School, has contacted The Press to clarify details in an article which appeared recently regarding a new policy at the school starting with the 2014-2015 school year.

"Birthday treats must be non-edible. However for holiday parties, such as Christmas, Valentine's Day, etc., we are allowing food. Parents must contact the classroom teacher for the approved list of food allowed to be sent in."

Samide said they are working hard at HST to keep all of the children safe.
