Run, walk and party at the park for NWL ed foundation fundraiser

Northwestern Lehigh Education Foundation is sponsoring a Rock N'Run 5K Run and Fun Walk fundraiser May 31 at Ontelaunee Park.

Following the run and walk, there will be a free Party in the Park 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with live bands, food and entertainment.

The nonprofit education foundation contributed more than $103,000 to the school district last year, providing additional interactive whiteboards in the classrooms and the foundation's teacher mini-grant program through which teachers or groups of teachers can apply for money needed for special projects in their classrooms.

The foundation is committed to helping the students and community of Northwestern Lehigh School District.

Each preregistered participant will receive a NWLEF Rock n' Run long sleeve, moisture wicking, high visibility, reflective T-shirt and refreshments.

The 5K includes eight age brackets, with each group receiving awards for the top three male and top three female finishers.

Medals will be presented to all registered children, ages 17 and younger.
