CENTRAL CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL COLUMN Central Catholic baccalaureate June 5

As the month of May comes to a close, so does the school year for Allentown Central Catholic seniors.

Many seniors began wrapping up the academic year earlier this month with the administration of Advanced Placement tests for college credit. Other seniors will take their last high school exams over the course of this week into next, ending with their final day in the halls of Central Catholic June 3. Their loss will create a hard to fill gap in the hearts of the friends and teachers left behind as they move on to bigger and better things.

On June 5, the seniors will gather with their families for a baccalaureate service at St. Thomas More Church. They will celebrate their last Mass together, not just as a class, but as a family. It is a touching ceremony uniting and bringing them closer together in their faith.

The following evening is graduation in Rockne Hall. It will be the last time the seniors will find themselves together at the corner of Fourth and Chew Streets.

A bittersweet event long looked forward to, this night will mark the close of one chapter for Central Catholic's Class of 2014 and the beginning of a new one.

All at Central wish the best for its departing seniors as they move forward in life.
