Reward offered for info on damaged equipment at park

A $500 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of vandals who ruined three Port-a-Potties and two permanently mounted trash cans by driving into them at the Northwestern Recrecreation Community Park.

In other matters related to the park Supervisor Steve Bachman, rec commission representative, said the Northwestern Recreation Commission received a $5,000 donation from Nestlé Waters, North American.

The annual Night in the Country celebration will be Aug. 16, with a rain date the following day.

Bruce Wehr, who provided tents for "Night", will allow the commission to borrow them again but workers from the event will need to erect them.

Roadmaster Kevin Huber was asked if the crew could help.

If weather takes some down and they have to be reset Saturday morning, the commission will pay the labor cost.

A group, such as the Cub Scouts, which has done the cleanup for many years, is needed on the Sunday following "Night."

The group receives $200 for helping.

A boy was discovered riding a bike on the Potato Shed roof on Northwest Road at the rec fields.

Paperwork is being considered to allow constables to fine vandals at the fields and short piece of fence will be added to the area where many snowmobiles enter the fields.

Huber was asked if his crew had time to erect the fence.

He said they could, but only if there were no time limit to complete the work.
