No opposition for Schlossberg in 132nd

State Rep. Michael Schlossberg, Democrat, is seeking re-election for a second two-year term to his seat in the 132nd Legislative District in the May 20 Primary Election.

There is no candidate on the Republican side of the ticket.

The Press asked candidates why they should be elected or re-elected to serve constituents in his or her district.

Q. Why should voters re-elect you to represent the 132nd Legislative District?

A. Voters should re-elect me because I've proven I can get results. For example, the recently enacted transportation bill will result in over $200 million in economic investment and thousands of jobs for my district.

Much of that money wouldn't have come home if I had voted no. I'm also a tireless fighter for public education and fought to bring home additional money to the Allentown and Parkland school districts.

More to the point, I am a pragmatist, not an ideologue. While some of my colleagues concentrate their efforts on union busting and fighting marriage equality, I focus my energy on real issues like improving the manufacturing sector, solving our pending doctor shortage and finding new ways to connect with my constituents.

My office is dedicated toward getting results and providing first-rate constituent service, and it is for those reasons that I think I have earned another term.
