United States Postal Service mail carrier Thom Walter shows a bag of non-perishable food items he collected May 9 from a postal route patron in western Salisbury Township. The USPS each year provides a plastic grocery store bag with each patron's mail, asking people to fill it with non-perishable food items and leave it at the mailbox for carriers to pick up and take it to area food banks. Walter says that "it's an amazing sight" to see the loading dock at the Lehigh Valley postal facility piled high with filled "Stamp Out Hunger" donations at the end of the workday.
