The St. Luke's Singers will perform its 21st annual spring concert, "This is My Song," May 18, at the First Presbyterian Church, 2344 Center St., Bethlehem.There will be an instrumental and organ prelude 2:45 p.m. with the concert beginning 3 p.m. Proceeds benefit the St. Luke's Cancer Center's Hope and Healing Series.
Included in the concert will be selections based on poetry by Walt Whitman and Robert Frost, opera pieces and standards of the 40s and 50s. Accompanists are Romaine Laury on piano and Brian Snyder on organ.
The choir's new director is Nancy Shumaker, a retired Bethlehem Area School District music teacher and a local choirs and theater groups director. The St. Luke's Singers of 60 plus members is the only hospital-based choir in eastern Pennsylvania.
