It's open house season in the district schools
Mark your calendars for upcoming elementary open houses. Steckel Elementary School will hold its open house on May 8. Gockley Elementary Schooll will hold one May 15 and Zephyr Elementary School will host its on May 22. The open house times will be 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at all schools.
Middle School Spring Parent-Teacher Night will be held May 24. The event will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

School will be in session May 5, June 12 (early dismissal) and June 16 (early dismissal). June 17 is the student's last day, also with early dismissal. Teacher's will have in-service days until June 20.

Camp Whitehall is a summer day camp opportunity for Whitehall children who have completed kindergarten, minimum age of sixth- to eighth-grade, with a maximum age of 15. Registration will begin on Monday, May 5, at the Whitehall Township Municipal Building. The two camp locations are Camp Cementon for K-3 and Camp Jefferson for grades four through eight. The hours are between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Registration forms are available at the township office. If you have any questions, you may contact the Whitehall Township Recreation Bureau at 610-437-5524, extension 160, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

According to the WCSD Trip Policy, educational trips are limited to seven school days per academic year. Any days missed for travel beyond the seven days of absence will be illegal days if the student's age is 16 or younger. The Family Educational Trip Request Form, available in the school office, must be submitted to the office before departure. If the form is not submitted before the trip, the missed days will be considered illegal. The district prefers that all trips be scheduled during holiday breaks.
