The four-township annual CleanSweep recycling event will take place 8 a.m.-noon April 12 at the Lowhill Township Building.

Bring tires, refrigerators, computers, recyclables to be disposed properly. There is a fee for some items.

Ebenezer's clothing closet will be open 10 a.m. to noon April 12. There are free clothes for the entire family.

Take as much as you need. Proof of need not required. Clothing donations are not being accepted at this time.

Albany Township Historical Society, 404 Old Philly Pike, Kempton, will be presenting guest speaker Jay Smar 7:30 p.m. April 21.

The topic will be "Folklore and Coal Mining Songs of the Northeast."

Smar of Coaldale was given drum lessons at age 8 by the Immaculate Heart of Mary Sisters.

Smar is a full time musician and has dedicated his life to his loves - music, coal mining and people.

Albany Township Historical Society meetings are free and open to the general public.
