In an effort to connect children with the beauty of the spoken and written word, the Emmaus Public Library will present a poetry event 6 to 7 p.m. April 22.

Titled "Playing with Poetry," the event will be conducted by the new children's librarian, Alison Trautmann.

Children attending the program will be led through several different poems, learn about different types of poetry, watch videos of spoken word poetry, participate in word activities and compose a short poem. The event is recommended for students in fourth grade and above.
