Slatington Library Happenings

There were 36 shingle vaccines given March 3 by the Pennsylvania Department of Health at the Slatington Public Library, 650 Main St., Slatington. This was a very successful campaign which the library hopes will be repeated next year.

The library is raffling off a "Sunbonnet Sue" handmade quilt Oct.19 at the Walnutport Canal Festival.

The quilt is currently at the library to view.

Preschool story hour is offered 11 a.m. Wednesdays.

A two DVD set of the Slatington Centennial Celebration is now available for purchase at the library.

These DVDs were converted from the 16 mm film taken by Mummy Studios in 1964.

If you preordered a copy they are also ready for pickup.

Volunteers from APRISE will continue to do Medicare Part D benefit checks on the third Tuesday of each month.

Call the library to make an appointment.

The library is having a bag sale: books, puzzles, videos, audio books, anything that fit in a bag.

The library will take donations of books but not take encyclopedias, National Geographic magazines or Reader's Digest condensed books.

Library hours are from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays; 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesdays.; 9 a.m.-5 p.m Fridays; and 8 a.m.-2 p.m Saturdays. The library is closed Thursdays and Sundays.
