The Crane Opera Ensemble will present a pair of angelic one-act operas April 11 and 12 in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater at SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music, Potsdam, N.Y.

The cast and crew includes Nicholas Roehler of Allentown, who plays the Italian in "Angelique" and also plays the offstage keyboard for "Suor Angelica."

in honor society

Lauren A Hannaford of Breinigsville was named to York College of Pennsylvania's Senior Honor Society.

Membership in this society is limited to the 5 percent of the senior class members who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 2.8 or better and who have demonstrated "continuing leadership and involvement in extracurricular or community activities during his or her years at York College."

Samantha Szewczak of Upper Macungie Township, was named to the student-athlete honor roll for the fall academic semester by Lock Haven University, .

Szewczak is majoring in early childhood education and special education.

She is a member of the women's indoor and outdoor track and field team.

Szewczak recently placed at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference indoor track and field championship in the 4 by 400 relay and the distant medley relay.

The daughter of Paul and Debra Szewczak, she is a 2013 graduate of Parkland High School.

Sagar Laud of Allentown, made the dean's list for the fall semester at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Ga.

This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have a 3.0 or higher academic average for the semester.

wins scholarship

Nicholas Roehler of Allentown, who is majoring in music performance was among 1,047 students awarded scholarships, grants and awards for the 2013-14 academic year at State University of New York, Potsdam, N.Y.

These accomplished SUNY Potsdam undergraduate and graduate students were recognized for their achievements with support for their educational experience.

Roehler was awarded the Cassie Davino Memorial Scholarship and the Horace and Genevieve Bowman Scholarship.
