Rep. Julie Harhart, R-183rd, will offer her monthly veterans outreach hours in her Slatington district office 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 3. The office is located in the Slatington Borough Hall, 125 S. Walnut St.

Harhart said during the special hours, a veterans outreach specialist from the American Legion in Wilkes-Barre will be available to meet with local veterans and assist them with issues they may be having accessing benefits and services from the U.S. Veterans Affairs.

"We have had such a positive response to this outreach service," said Harhart. "I know many veterans get frustrated trying to understand components of their benefits or trying to get access to services they are entitled to, and this specialist will answer their questions and help resolve any issues a veteran is encountering in a face-to-face, confidential meeting."

The veterans outreach specialist is available the first Thursday of each month on alternating months at Harhart's Northampton or Slatington district offices. April's visit is being held in Slatington and May's visit will be held in Northampton May 1.
