An oldies dance and hot buffet dinner, sponsored by the Northampton Area Konkrete Kids Educational Foundation, is scheduled for April 5, at the Northampton Community Center.

The $30 ticket includes the hot buffet served with beer, wine and soda from 6-7:30 p.m. followed by live music performed by Desire from 7:30-10:30 p.m. A basket raffle will add to the evening's festivities.

All proceeds from this fundraiser will be donated to the Konkrete Kids Educational Foundation, a nonprofit community organization that raises funds used to extend learning opportunities and cocurricular experiences for Northampton Area School District students.

For oldies dance tickets, contact Paulette at 610-509-8173 before the March 28 deadline. No tickets will be sold at the door. The dance is open to anyone 21 years of age or older.

Any individual or business interested in being a sponsor or in donating a basket for the raffle should contact Paulette.

Northampton Orchestra Parent Association host a Panera fundraiser, 2669 MacArthur Road, from 4-8 p.m. March 26.

A printed flyer or electronic print out must be furnished when ordering for the sale to count toward a donation. You may contact NOPA at bweghofer@rcn.com if you are in need of a flyer.

Northampton Area Middle School students, in celebration of Read Across America, participated in various service related activities, including a drive to support the Northampton Food Bank and Can your Fine.

Students can bring cans of food to the library which will be credited to pay for overdue book fines. Even if you don't have a fine, bring in a donation to help another student.

The library is also looking for gently used books. Donated books will be given to The Northampton Early Childhood Task Force. They are also conducting a spring into reading book fair May 5-9. Books will be donated to the Northampton Food Bank.

The next school board meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. March 24 at the district offices on Laubach Ave.

Note, there is an early dismissal for elementary students noon March 28. No lunches will be served.

Also, PSSA tests will be administered March 24-28. Be sure your child is in attendance.
