Education Forum: The Legacy of No Child Left Behind presented by Muhlenberg education professors, Dr. Michael Carbone and Sally Richwine, who will be sharing their cutting-edge research exploring how standardized tests have impacted students, teachers, schools and outcomes.

The event is open to the public in all school districts. Teachers, parents and administrators are encouraged to attend. The forum will be held 7 p.m. in the East Penn School District Board Room, 800 Pine St., Emmaus.

Old Zionsville UCC Fountain Road, Old Zionsville will have a family-style All You Can Eat Homemade Dutch Pot Pie Dinner 4 to 7 p.m. The dinner includes homemade dutch pot pie, buttered carrots, pickled beets, applesauce, rolls, coffee, tea and pie. Emmaus Historical Society meets 7 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church parish hall. The program for the evening is "Lehigh River Trackside With Randolph Kulp." Doug Peters will present photos taken by Kulp from 1950 into the 1980s.

The quarterly meeting of the Hivel Und Dahl Preservation Society will be held 7 p.m. in the Upper Milford Township Building, 5671 Chestnut St., Zionsville. After a short business meeting Anne W. Goda will give a talk about the Stahl Pottery of Powder Valley. Goda has written a book on the pottery and will have copies available. "Being Alive: Songs and Lessons of the Journey through Cancer" concert at Miller (Allentown) Symphony Hall's Rodale Room, 7:30 p.m. "Being Alive" will discuss some of the lessons of the cancer journey through storytelling, audience participation, visual artwork from Healing through the Arts, and the music of Steven Sondheim, Josh Groban, Andrea Boccelli and others. Participants include Dr. Rick Boulay; John Richardson, organist at First Presbyterian Church of Allentown; Grace Spreiull, soprano, Bach Choir; and Kristin Grassi, nationally honored jazz singer. Each ticket includes dessert after the event and free parking. All funds raised will be donated to cancer related charities. Tickets are available through Miller Symphony Hall at 610-432-6715.

April 6

Lower Macungie Firefighter's Women's Association Vera Bradley bingo at the fire department on Brookside Road.
