Student punches

teacher

State Police Troop M Fogelsville say a 15-year-old Whitehall girl threw a water bottle at a 40-year-old male teacher from Northampton at 2:12 p.m. Feb. 24 in the Lehigh Learning and Achievement School, 2936 Corporate Court, Lowhill Township.

Police say the girl then punched the teacher.

Charges will be filed with Lehigh County Juvenile Probation, police say.

Driver arrested

for DUI

State Police Troop M Fogelsville say Thomas Philip Kennedy, 51, of Orefield, was driving a 2014 Buick Encore 10:12 p.m. March 1 along Kernsville Road at Columbus Boulevard, Lowhill Township, when he was stopped for an alleged traffic violation. Police allege Kennedy showed signs of impairment.

He was placed under arrest for driving under influence after he submitted to field sobriety tests, which he allegedly did not complete to satisfaction, police say.

Charges for driving under the influence of alcohol and traffic violations will be filed with District Judge Rod Beck, Slatington.
