Upper Macungie Township police responded around 10 a.m. Feb. 15 after receiving a report of a possible roof collapse at Amazon, 705 Boulder Drive, Upper Macungie Township.
Upon arrival, officers learned the roof was deflecting due to an accumulation of ice and snow on it, but there was no collapse or leak.
As a precaution, Amazon moved employees away from the area amid concern about the stability of the roof and called engineers to evaluate the issue.
Amazon shut down operations and sent most employees home until the issue could be determined to be safe, police say.
Township police assisted with traffic control while the employees left, say police.
Good Will Fire Company No. 1, Trexlertown, and Upper Macungie Bureau of Fire were notified as a precaution but did not respond.
