STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Q. What grade are you currently in?
A. I am a senior at Salisbury High school.
Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?
A. I love English because words possess infinite power and allow individuals to express themselves freely. I also love science because it isn't as limited as math, or as fixed as history; it is vast and the possibilities are endless.
Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?
A. I was inducted into National Honor Society my junior year. I earned four varsity letters in soccer, I was selected as a second team Colonial League All-Star during the 2013 soccer season and was named offensive MVP for Salisbury. I also received a second place award in the 2014 Hope and Healing art contest.
Q. What extracurricular activities are you involved in, both in and out of school?
A. I am a member of the Key Club and the varsity soccer team. I have also participated in chorus, track and tennis. I have taken eight years of piano lessons and have played club soccer for Lehigh Valley United for four years. Also, I am currently a volunteer in the Pediatric Unit at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital.
Q. What is your next goal after high school?
A. Excelling at the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown where I will pursue studies in the field of speech pathology, while continuing my soccer career at the collegiate level.
Q. What would you say your biggest challenge was so far?
A. Accepting the sacrifices I've had to make in order to accomplish the goals I've set.
Q. What do you want to be remembered for?
A. Being a well-rounded person who has earned her place in life.
Q. Who is in your family?
A. My parents, Jeff and Donna, and my younger siblings, Kristen and Jacob.
Q. Do you have someone you look up to?
A. Not one, but many individuals inspire me. Their stories of perseverance and relentlessness drive me to reach my goals...and then pass them.
Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?
A. While you're embracing the next chapter of your life, whatever it may be, don't forget to live.
