Feb. 19

The Emmaus Historical Society program, "The 1959 Emmaus Centennial," Part 1, at St. John's Lutheran Church has been cancelled due to snow and parking problems.

The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts will hold an open house. Tours begin 6 p.m; program begins 6:30 p.m. Reservations are not required. In the case of inclement weather, visit the school's website for cancellation or postponement information at www.CharterArts.org. The school is located at 675 East Broad Street in Bethlehem.

Feb. 20

Starting/boosting beehives in early spring is the topic of the Lehigh Valley Beekeepers Association 7 p.m. at the Seipstown Grange, 8501 Claussville Road, Fogelsville. There will also be a beekeepers new and used hardware swap at the beginning of the meeting. Meetings are free and open to the public. Feb. 22

All you can eat spaghetti dinner 4 to 7 p.m., Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 535 W. Emaus Ave., Allentown. There is a charge; three and under are free. All proceeds benefit the youth group.

Feb. 24

GFWCPA Women's Club of Emmaus will hold their monthly meeting 7 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Fifth and Chestnut streets, Emmaus. The program will be "Stroll through time with accessories" presented by Faith Andrews. They will be celebrating their 74th anniversary. Candy orders are now due

Feb. 27

Upper Milford Historical Society meeting, 7 p.m. Upper Milford municipal building, Old Zionsville. The topic is quilts in history with Michele McLaughlin who is a quilt maker, collector and researcher. Refreshments will be provided. For additional information, call 610-966-4376.

The Lehigh Valley Chapter 1371 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees will conduct their monthly meeting at St. Peters Lutheran Church community room, 1933 Hanover Ave., Allentown, starting noon with lunch. Following lunch, Greg Bott, Allentown, will tell about the Lehigh Valley Center for Independant Living and answer questions. A brief business meeting will also be held. All current and former Federal workers are invited to attend. First timers and those wishing to have lunch are asked to call Ken Zeiner at 610-419-0739 before Feb. 22. There is a cost for the lunch. March 2

St. John's Lutheran Church, Fifth and Chestnut streets, Emmaus, is holding a book, DVD, plant and seed swap, as well as a pot-luck lunch noon in the church Parish Hall. The event is free and open to the public with items for all ages– children and adults. Families are welcome and a craft activity will be available for children. Stop by for lunch– which includes an ice cream bar for dessert– to browse and get some great items. If you would like to make a donation for the swap, bring your donations of books, games, CD/DVDs and children's toys to St. John's by Feb. 28. Donated plants should be taken to St. John's by 10:30 a.m. March 2. Call Mary Bealer with questions or for more information at 610-965-5419.

March 4

Lehigh Carbon Community College will host a transfer fair for students, alumni and the public 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Community Services Center at its main campus in Schnecksville. Representatives from various colleges and universities will be on hand to answer questions about transferring from LCCC to a four-year school. Sponsored by the Advising and Transfer Center and LCCC's Phi Theta Kappa chapter, the event is free and open to the public.
