Area students earn degrees

Two local students are among those awarded degrees in winter commencement ceremonies Jan. 12. The students are Paige Hobaugh and Brittany Linn, both of Allentown.

GEORGIA TECH

Local grad named to Dean's list

Sagar Laud, of Allentown, was named to the Dean's list for the fall 2013 semester at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

An undergraduate student who has a 3.0 or higher academic average for the semester is eligible for the Dean's list.

Dean's list

Hannah Rucker, of Allentown, recently was named to the Dean's list for fall 2013. Rucker is majoring in digital filmmaking.

A student must achieve a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher to be named to the Dean's list.

Kelsey Groves, of Allentown, was named to the Dean's list for the fall 2013 semester.

To be selected for the Dean's list, a student must attain a grade point average of at least 3.5 of a possible 4.0.

Several area students were among those named to Dean's list for the fall 2013 semester. They are: Laura Erle, of Macungie, a freshman majoring in drama; Shannon Lilly, of Macungie, a junior majoring in psychology; Gwendolyn Osterwald, of Allentown, a sophomore majoring in Spanish.

The following local residents were named to the Dean's list for the fall 2013 semester: Ashley Cavanaugh, Jessica Fritsche, Jason Klinger, Haley Lynott, Kaitlyn Pearson, Emily Rieser, Brian Smith, Gavin Sonntag, all of Allentown; Kelsey Buxton, Susan Racek, Devon Reinert, all of Emmaus; and Kira Dunleavy, Samantha Lang, Dallas Meitzler, Julianne Metz, Kelsey Miller, Shannon Philips, all of Macungie.

Students named to the Dean's list earn a semester grade-point-average of 3.50 or higher and attempt at least 12 credits of coursework in the semester.
