LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

CENTRAL CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL COLUMN Central Catholic adjusts school calendar

This winter has been one of the hardest in years. And with record setting snow totals, Allentown Central Catholic, along with many other schools in the area, have used more snow days than expected.

Due to these unexpected weather conditions, Central Catholic has been forced to have school on days previously scheduled as days off. To make up for lost time, students will now have a half day of school on Holy Thursday and a full day of school Easter Monday. Additional days to be made up will be added on to the end of the school year.

While the rest of the student body will have a bit of an extended school year, the seniors' graduation date has not changed.

The Baccalaureate and Commencement dates for the Class of 2014 are intended to be maintained at their originally scheduled dates.

Spring play rehearsals for "Annie Get Your Gun" begin soon. While the hard work and talent of Central students help to make the show a success, what makes it a possibility is the help and effort behind the scenes. Central is looking for any parent or individual willing to help with the show. Help is needed especially in heading a committee for ticket orders and seating, refreshments, donations and sales or costuming and make-up. Anyone interested in helping may contact Kateri Swaverly at kswavely@acchs. info. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Central Catholic also wishes luck to all its winter sport athletes as they work toward the close of their season. Every team has had a great deal of success this year and there is still more to come.
