School will be in session Friday, Feb. 14. This date was originally scheduled for the Presidents Day weekend break.

School will also be in session Thursday, April 17. This date was originally scheduled for spring break.

A third date has been added for an in session school day. Monday, May 5, will now be a school day. This was originally scheduled for a professional development day for the staff.

If more dates will need to be added to the calendar due to inclement weather, the days will be added to the end of the school year in June.

School will still be closed as planned for Presidents Day, Feb. 17.

PSSA writing field tests will be taking place for students in fourth and fifth grade. These tests will be held during the week of Feb. 10-13.

Please be sure your child gets enough rest, nutrition and exercise. It is also important to be on time and attend school on these dates.

PTO movie night will be held at the middle school tomorrow 7-8 p.m. Feb. 7.

The next school board meeting is scheduled for 7 to 8 p.m. Feb. 10 in the administration building on the Whitehall campus.

The school district has a new registration process for enrolling eligible children in kindergarten for the 2014-15 school year.

The child must be 5 years of age before Sept. 1, 2014. Parents or guardians may begin the process starting Jan. 6.

Parents or guardians must access and complete the online registration by logging on to the district website at www.whitehallcoplay.org. You then must select a date and time to meet with the enrollment secretary, Michelle Khouri, to present all the required documentation (see website). Parents or guardians will then be assigned an appointment to bring their child to meet with the guidance counselor, school nurse and reading specialists for a brief assessment at Gockley Elementary School March 25, 26, 27, 28 and 31.

The deadline to register kindergarten students online is March 14.
