Firefighters halted traffic for a short time as emergency equipment had to descend the westbound ramp at Summit Lawn and double back eastbound against traffic flow. The fire was just east of the Summit Lawn I-78 overpass. Also responding and providing water to fight the fire was the Eastern Salisbury Fire Department's tanker truck. A unit from Upper Milford Fire Department also responded and Upper Saucon Fire Department diverted traffic for a time at the bottom of the hill on East Pike Avenue around the
