Salisbury swim teams sweep Quakertown
Salisbury's boys swim team remained undefeated with a 110-61 win over Quakertown last week. The Falcon girls team also beat the Panthers using a win in the event's final race to pull out a 80-76.
Salisbury's Jon Anderson won two individual events and was part of a two winning relay teams. Anderson on won the 100 butterfly in 57.34 seconds and won the 100 breaststroke in 1:08.17.
He teamed with Benjamin Wiener, Mahlon Reihman and Tyler Lesko for a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. In the meet's final event, the 400-freestyle relay, Tim Costantini joined Anderson, Lesko, Reihman for the meet-clinching win.
The Falcons Denny Bonner set a pool and school record with a 296.35 in the diving event.
Other individual event winners in the boys meet were Lesko (200 individual medley, 2:16.15), Reihman (50 freestyle, 23.53) and Costantini (backstroke, 1:08.17).
In the girls meet, Salisbury Alyssa Sipos won two individual events and was part of one relay winner.
Sipos won the 200 IM in 2:37.97. The senior also won the 100 backstroke. She teamed with Rachel Costantini, Mackenzie Sikora and Brooke Rogers for first place in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Other individual event winners for Salisbury were Kell Kucsan (200 freestyle, 2:35.07), Taylar Velten (100 freestyle, 1:07.37) and Kaleigh Bobeck (500 freestyle, 6:09.57).
The Falcons also brought home a win in the girls 200-yard freestyle relay with the foursome of Rachel Costantini, Kucsan, Sierra Mama and Velten.
Salisbury has two meets remaining. They face Allen on Monday and Parkland next Thursday, Feb. 13, before getting ready for the District 11 Meet.
The district diving championships will be held Feb. 22 at Emmaus High School. The swimming championships take place Friday and Saturday, Feb. 28-29 at Parkland High School.
The Falcon boys team is the defending District 11 Class AA champion as well as defending state champs.
