BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA

An Eagle Scout Court of Honor was held for William Ryan Walsh Jan. 19 at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Eastern Salisbury.

Walsh, a member of Boy Scout Troop 146, was surrounded by family, friends and fellow Scouts at the special ceremony held at the church where the Troop meets.

Through his Scouting career, Walsh has been the Troop historian, assistant patrol leader, patrol leader and junior assistant Scoutmaster.

He has received the Oredeal Member of the Order of the Arrow, NOA Camping Award and World Conservation Award.

For his Eagle project, Walsh worked with the Fountain Hill American Legion Post 406 on the construction of the Memorial Day display crosses.

Walsh is the son of Frank and Lisa Walsh and the brother of Meagan.

He received 30 merit badges during his Scouting career. He joined Cub Scouts in 2004 and became a Boy Scout in 2007.

"Throughout my journey through Scouting, there have been more people who have helped me on my way than I could ever thank," Walsh said. "Without my Scoutmasters, assistant Scoutmasters, committee members, parent volunteers, camp counselors and fellow Scouts, I could never have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout."
