LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

SWAIN

Entertainment industry professionals John Homa and Jeff Dockweiler will present an intensive actors workshop in the Lehigh Valley Feb. 7 to 9.

The Swain School, 1100 S. 24th St., Allentown, will sponsor the workshop, an opportunity for Lehigh Valley residents ages 8 and older to learn from the two professional acting coaches.

Together, Homa and Dockweiler have over 35 years' experience in the industry and will help aspiring actors discover what is expected of them at auditions and how to achieve the success they desire.

The 6 to 10 p.m. Feb. 7 session will focus on the business of acting and the audition process. Saturday and Sunday's sessions will also include scene work and coaching. Participants will come away from the three days with a five-year plan specific to them and their goals.

Homa, a native of Phillipsburg, NJ, has worked since 1990 as an acting coach (including on-set on "General Hospital"), served as a judge on VH1's "Scream Queens," and, with partner "Dock," runs a production company set to launch 30 projects in 2014.

Dockweiler also has experience in television production (including five years with Stephen J. Cannell Productions), as an acting coach (including on-set on "All My Children") and audition coaching.

They have worked with actors like Kirsten Dunst, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Michelle Williams, Eric Balfour, LeAnn Rimes, Katie Cassidy, Elijah Kelly, Brie Larson, Sarah Roemer, Brittany Murphy, Conner Paolo, Stella Maeve, Evan Rachel Wood and many more.

Participants may attend all three days for a fee, or the Friday evening session only for a fee. Registration is due Jan. 31 and details are available at www.swain.org or by calling 610-433-4542, ext. 150.
