Assault

Peter Balodis, 43, of Allentown, was charged with simple assault and harassment 1:50 a.m. Jan. 22 at the Commix Hotel, 3245 W. Emaus Ave., Allentown. Balodis allegedly hit the victim following an argument. He was taken to Central Booking for processing.

Road rage

An incident occurred 4 p.m. Jan. 17 on Church Road and Black River Road as a school bus was stopped in the intersection while the bus driver stopped to talk to an unidentified actor. There were allegedly no flashing red lights and no discharge of students. As another driver went around the bus, the actor said he was going to call the police. As the driver pulled over, he allegedly heard a loud bang and looked behind to see the bus driver hanging out of the window. When the driver went home, he noticed a mark on the car and called the police. The incident is currently under investigation.

Retail theft

Jannette Claudio, 40, of Allentown, and Yessenia Marco-Morales, 41, of Allentown, were charged with retail theft and criminal conspiracy 5:15 p.m. Jan. 19. Claudio and Marco-Morales allegedly filled carts with merchandise at Bon-Ton, 3300 Lehigh St., Allentown, and tried to walk out the door. A total of 44 items were recovered with a value of $1,846.98. They were taken to Central Booking for processing.

An unknown actor ran into Bon-Ton, 3300 Lehigh St., Allentown, 3:35 p.m. Jan. 20, allegedly grabbed a coffee machine and ran out the door, jumping into a red Chevy Cobalt. Police have the registration number of the vehicle and are pursuing the suspect.

Jannette Claudio, 40, of Allentown, and Yessenia Marco-Morales, 41, of Allentown, were charged with retail theft 2 p.m. Jan. 20 for numerous items allegedly found in their vehicle removed from Petco, 3300 Lehigh St., Allentown. Claudio and Marco-Morales consented to a search of their vehicle following their arrests Jan. 19 after an incident at Bon-Ton.

Theft

A patient visiting the emergency room at Lehigh Valley Health Network - Cedar Crest reported the theft of a Samsung Galaxy 3 cell phone 2 p.m. Jan. 23. The theft occurred two weeks prior to the date of the report as the hospital searched for the phone.
