Jan. 30

Upper Milford Historical Society meeting, 7 p.m. Upper Milford Municipal Building, Old Zionsville. The topic will be postcard histories with Jeff Donat. Everyone is welcome; refreshments will be provided. For additional information, call 610-966-4376.

The Lehigh Valley Chapter 1371 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees meets at St. Peter's Lutheran Church community room, 1933 Hanover Ave., Allentown. Lunch will be served noon. Following the meal, a program will be presented by state Senator Lisa Boscola, D-18th, who will discuss current legislative matters of interest. A brief business session will conclude the meeting. First timers and those wishing to have lunch are asked to call Ken Zeiner at 610-419-0739. There is a cost for the lunch. Feb. 1

All you can eat spaghetti dinner 4 to 7 p.m. at Concordia Lutheran Preschool, 2623 Brookside Road, Macungie. There is a charge; children two and under eat free. All proceeds will benefit the preschool. For additional information, call 610-965-3265.

Feb. 3

The 78th annual dinner meeting for Groundhog Lodge #1 will be held 6:30 p.m. at the Germansville Fire Company on Memorial Road, Germansville. The speaker for the evening will be Donald Peters. The groundhog himself will give the weather prediction for the next six weeks in the Pa. Dutch dialect. A family style dinner will be served to satisfy the appetite of all. Feb. 6

Allentown AARP Chapter #5415 will meet noon Feb. 6 at St. Timothy's Church, 140 S. Ott St., Allentown. Karen Francis will give a presentation on dementia and Alzheimer's. Feb. 7

Eighth Annual SnowBlast Winter Festival, Emmaus, sponsored by the Emmaus Arts Commission. The festival is packed with free, community-wide arts related events. For a complete schedule of activities, visit www.emmausarts.org/snowblast_winter_festival.

Emmaus Historical Society is participating in the Emmaus Arts Commission SnowBlast Winter Arts Festival displaying vintage winter displays, photos and articles of blizzards in Emmaus dating back to the 1800s. The society is open 5 to 9 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 8. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served. The winter displays will be shown through March 8.

Feb. 15

A magic and illusion show with Tom Yurasits 10 a.m. at the Lower Macungie Township Community Center, 3450 Brookside Road.

Old Zionsville UCC Church, 5981 Fountain Road, Old Zionsville, will hold a breakfast buffet 7 to 11 a.m. until sold out. There will be a cost for guests six and over. The public is welcome to attend. For information, call 610-966-5115.

Feb. 19

The Emmaus Historical Society program is "The 1959 Emmaus Centennial," Part 1, held at St. John's Lutheran Church, 7 p.m. The kickoff dinner, the opening ceremonies and exhibits, The Queen's Ball and The Time Capsule are major events to be shared in this, the first program on the great centennial celebration.
