Community Music School (CMS) has received $16,000 from The Dexter F. & Dorothy H. Baker Foundation for student scholarships and operational expenses in 2014.

Dorothy H. Baker is a founding director of CMS. The Baker Foundation has supported CMS from its inception.

The Baker Foundation grant will support CMS' "Baker Scholarships," which are need- and-or merit- based scholarships for enrolled students who have distinguished themselves as enthusiastic and committed to their instrumental studies.

The foundation grant will also fund an additional staff person to accommodate growing demand.
