Starting soon, Central Catholic will begin offering its SAT prep classes for seniors and juniors.

One class available is for the English and reading sections of the SAT and another for the math section of the test.

The classes will run five consecutive Saturdays Jan. 25 through Feb. 22. These classes are highly recommended for any student who plans to take the SAT, especially because the classes cover topics with which a student may not be familiar.

There is a cost for each class and they can be taken separately or together.

The teachers in charge of the classes are Robert Baser, who will lead the English sections, and Jane Koneski, a math teacher at Central.

For all freshmen, sophomores, and juniors, there will be a meeting Feb. 3 regarding class selection for the next school year. This is very important as it determines the courses the students take next year.

Students need to have teachers sign them into the class they feel they are ready for. It is important all students take time to consider what classes they plan to take as it plays a part in what classes are available in the future.

Students need to think about what they want to take and what they may want to study in college.

Also, talking with their teachers is important. Teachers are familiar with what each class involves and can help guide students to a course they will enjoy and do well in.

Class placement is based on achievement in the first semester and criteria found in the program of studies booklet.

Class selection and registration fees are due by Feb. 24.
