Report cards will be distributed Thursday, Jan. 30 for students at Gockley, Steckel and Zephyr elementary schools and Whitehall-Coplay Middle School.

Be sure to discuss any issues or concerns with your child's teacher.

Zephyr Elementary School Key Club events are planned for next week.

There is a Winter Spirit Week scheduled for Jan. 27 through Jan. 31.

Monday will be a Mismatch day where students are permitted to wear mismatch clothes, shoes, etc.

Tuesday will be a Mini Me Minion day where each class will decide a theme, with the teacher and student dressing alike.

Wednesday will be a Whiteout day where students may wear all white.

Thursday will be Zephyr Pride Day allowing students to show their Zephyr pride by wearing zephyr colors.

Finally, Friday will be a Superbowl Day, with students wearing the colors of the team they will be routing for.

The school district has a new registration process for enrolling eligible children in kindergarten for the 2014-15 school year.

The child must be 5 years of age before Sept. 1, 2014. Parents or guardians may begin the process starting Jan. 6.

Parents or guardians must access and complete the online registration by logging on to the district website at www.whitehallcoplay.org. You then must select a date and time to meet with the enrollment secretary, Michelle Khouri, to present all the required documentation (see website). Parents or guardians will then be assigned an appointment to bring their child to meet with the guidance counselor, school nurse and reading specialists for a brief assessment at Gockley Elementary School March 25, 26, 27, 28 and 31.

The deadline to register kindergarten students online is March 14.
