STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Q. What grade are you currently in?

A. I am in the 12th grade.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. I have always enjoyed math because it is a concrete subject. This year, I particularly like calculus and physics because the teachers have good senses of humor.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I am an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, a Rensselaer Medalist and a member of National Honor Society.

Q. What extracurricular activities are you involved in, both in and out of school?

A. As far as school activities, I'm on the Debate team, the Scholastic Scrimmage team, track and field, swimming and cross country. I am also involved with the Future Business Leaders of America and the Model United Nations. Outside of school, I enjoy fencing, sailing and beekeeping.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. Out of high school, I want to attend college. Currently, I plan on studying engineering but am not sure which type. In the future, I may continue graduate study in business.

Q. What would you say your biggest challenge was so far?

A. Overcoming self-doubt about the future and trying to make tomorrow a better today.

Q. What do you want to be remembered for?

A. I would rather not be remembered for anything bad than be remembered for something specific.

Q. Who is in your family?

A. My father, Michael, and my mother, Kimberly.

Q. Do you have someone you look up to?

A. I admire anyone who excels in any specific pursuit but does so humbly.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Don't follow my advice. You know yourself better than anyone else.
