Jan. 27

GFWC-PA Woman's Club of Emmaus monthly meeting 11:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Fifth and Chestnut streets, Emmaus. Covered dish event will include an arts festival display. Speaker for the meeting is Shane Pepe.

Jan. 28

Lower Macungie Township Community Center will host a Miller-Keystone Blood Drive 4 to 7:30 p.m., 3450 Brookside Road.

We the People will hold an election for the reinstating of the Common Law Grand Jury in Lehigh County at the Emmaus Public Library, 11 East Main St., Emmaus, 7 p.m. There will be a 35-minute presentation starting 7 p.m. and a vote by show of hands will be 7:35 p.m. All participants will then be invited to register for the Common Law Grand Jury. Jan. 30

Upper Milford Historical Society meeting, 7 p.m. Upper Milford Municipal Building, Old Zionsville. The topic will be postcard histories with Jeff Donat. Everyone welcome; refreshments will be provided. For additional information, call 610-966-4376.

The Lehigh Valley Chapter 1371 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees meets at St. Peter's Lutheran Church community room, 1933 Hanover Ave., Allentown. Lunch will be served noon. Following the meal, a program will be presented by state Senator Lisa Boscola, D-18th, who will discuss current legislative matters of interest to our membership. A brief business session will conclude the meeting. First timers and those wishing to have lunch are asked to call Ken Zeiner at 610-419-0739 before Jan. 25. There is a cost for the lunch. Allentown AARP Chapter #5415 will meet noon Feb. 6 at St. Timothy's Church, 140 So. Ott St., Allentown. Karen Francis will give a presentation on dementia and Alzheimer's. Feb. 7

Eighth Annual SnowBlast Winter Festival, Emmaus, sponsored by the Emmaus Arts Commission. The festival is packed with free, community-wide art related events. For a complete schedule of activities, visit www.emmausarts.org/snowblast_winter_festival.

Emmaus Historical Society is participating in the Emmaus Arts Commission SnowBlast Winter Arts Festival displaying vintage winter displays, photos and articles of blizzards in Emmaus dating back to the 1800s. The society is open 5 to 9 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 8. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served. The winter displays will be shown through March 8.

Magic and illusion show with Tom Yurasits 10 a.m. at the Lower Macungie Township Community Center, 3450 Brookside Road.

Feb. 19

The Emmaus Historical Society program is "The 1959 Emmaus Centennial," Part 1, held at St. John's Lutheran Church, 7 p.m. The kickoff dinner, the opening ceremonies and exhibits, The Queen's Ball and The Time Capsule are major events to be shared in this, our first program on the great centennial celebration of 1959.
