"Train" your "Dinosaur": "Jim Henson's Dinosaur Train Live: Buddy's Big Adventure," 7 p.m. Jan. 24, Miller Symphony Hall, 23 N. Sixth St., Allentown. Children are transported on a journey back to the Mesozoic Era when dinosaurs roamed the earth .... and rode in trains. The popular PBS children's television show is brought to life through multi-media, music and puppetry. Buddy, Tiny, Shiny, Don, giant Laura, teeny Tiny and their friends and family star in the original musical where the audience is a part of the show. Join the Pteranodon family on a new adventure, as the conductor keeps things on track and a human paleontologist character checks in along the way. The production includes animation-styled vegetation, rear-screen projection creating motion-driven backgrounds and a full-size replica of the Dinosaur Train. There are hybrid walk-around-puppeteered costumed characters, forced perspective techniques for the larger dinosaurs, and several types of puppetry, including shadow, mechanical and blacklight. Sounds like a "Million": The national touring production of "Million Dollar Quartet," the Broadway musical inspired by four rock 'n' roll icons, will be presented at 7 p.m. Jan. 22, State Theatre for the Arts, 453 Northampton St., Easton. The Tony Award-winning musical, above, takes place on Dec. 4, 1956, when a twist of fate brought Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley together at Sam Phillips' Sun Records storefront studio in Memphis, Tenn., for the first and only time. The musical brings that legendary night to life with timeless hits, including "Blue Suede Shoes," "That's All Right,""Great Balls of Fire," "I Walk the Line," "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On," "See Ya Later, Alligator," "Hound Dog" and more. Portraying the icons are James Barry (Carl Perkins), John Countryman (Jerry Lee Lewis), Tyler Hunter (Elvis Presley) and Scott Moreau (Johnny Cash).
