Schools will be closed Friday, Jan. 17 and Monday, Jan. 20 for students and staff.

The next PTO meeting will be held at Gockley Elementary School 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

PTO Market Day pick up is set for Wednesday, Jan. 22 in the Whitehall-Coplay Middle School cafeteria between the hours of 4:30 and 5:30 p.m.

Zephyr Elementary School Key Club events are planned for next week.

There is a Winter Spirit Week scheduled for Jan. 27 through Jan. 31.

Monday will be a Mismatch day where students are permitted to wear mismatch clothes, shoes, etc.

Tuesday will be a Mini Me Minion day where each class will decide a theme, with the teacher and student dressing alike.

Wednesday will be a Whiteout day where students may wear all white.

Thursday will be Zephyr Pride Day allowing students to show their Zephyr pride by wearing zephyr colors.

Finally, Friday will be a Superbowl day allowing you to wear the colors of the team you hope wins the Superbowl.

The Whitehall-Coplay School District has a new registration process for enrolling eligible children in kindergarten for the 2014-15 school year.

The child must be 5 years of age before Sept. 1, 2014. Parents or guardians may begin the process starting Jan. 6.

Parents or guardians must access and complete the online registration by logging on to the district website at www.whitehallcoplay.org. You then must select a date and time to meet with the enrollment secretary, Michelle Khouri, to present all the required documentation (see website). Parents or guardians will then be assigned an appointment to bring their child to meet with the guidance counselor, school nurse and reading specialists for a brief assessment at Gockley Elementary School March 25, 26, 27, 28 and 31.

The deadline to register kindergarten students online is March 14.
