STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Q. What grade are you currently enrolled in?
A. I am a senior Falcon.
Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?
A. My media classes promote not only worldly thoughts, but also productivity with those thoughts as we materialize them into video projects. The classes give us skills that sharpen our thinking for use in our adult lives. It's essentially a breeding ground for innovation.
Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?
A. I was a commended scholar for the National Merit Scholarship Program. I was part of a team that broke the school's Turkey Launch record and I'm a member of the school's National Honor Society.
Q. What extracurricular activities are you involved in, both in and out of school?
A. I'm on the Debate team, Scholastic Scrimmage team and Model UN team. I'm also the treasurer of Key Club and of our 2014 Class. I run track for the school and might be in the spring production. I work at Rodizio Grill, a Brazilian steakhouse.
Q. What is your next goal after high school?
A. I want to preserve the same work ethic in college I have maintained in high school and stay on top of things.
Q. What would you say your biggest challenge was so far?
A. Simply and generally speaking, it's always been tough to keep everyone happy.
Q. What do you want to be remembered for?
A. I want to be the one who gave back the $20 bill he saw fall out of someone's pocket. I want to be the guy who stops a defenseless kid from getting harassed. I want to be the confidant who could always give good advice.
Q. Who is in your family?
A. I live with my dad, mom, little sister, and little brother, (Rick, Kim, Rory and Jake, respectively) and they all have made me who I am proud to be.
Q. Do you have someone you look up to?
A. I look up to my future self. I don't know what he looks like, but it's the unknown possibilities that motivate me to find out.
Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?
A. The greatest piece of technology you'll ever use is right inside your head.
